Mary Beth Carozza, Brandon Johnson, Vicki Harmon, Chris Jett, Joe Wilson, Sarah Rayne, and Grace Masten.

This annual event is an opportunity for REALTOR® and affiliate members to meet with their individual state senators and delegates to discuss real estate and homeowner issues. Coastal joined hundreds of REALTORS® and affiliates from across the state for the event.

Brief meetings occurred in individual legislators’ Annapolis offices during the 441st session of the Maryland General Assembly. Members particularly stressed support for affordable housing as legislators seek funds for education reform, addition of a professionalism element to the current Maryland Real Estate Commission ethics requirement, a provision to eliminate escrow requirements for unregistered ground rents, increased notice of easements and covenants, licensing of all real estate auctioneers, and a property management registry.

Coastal met with Sens. Mary Beth Carozza and Addie Eckard, as well as Dels. Chris Adams, Carl Anderton, Wayne Hartman, Johnny Mautz, Charles Otto, and Sheree Sample-Hughes.

“This annual event is a great opportunity for our members to represent the Lower Eastern Shore in Annapolis on issues that impact us at home and across the state,” said Coastal President Joe Wilson. “We’re grateful to our state legislators for taking time out of their very busy schedules to hear about issues that impact us as professionals, as well as homeowners and prospective buyers and sellers. We’d also like to thank our state association for coordinating another successful Lobby Day, as well as our members who spent an entire day traveling and meeting with their representatives.”
