Last Thursday nearly 100 realtors, elected officials, and members of the public gathered by Zoom to talk about the state of septic and wastewater in Wicomico County. The town hall was moderated by Coastal Association of REALTORS® President Joni Williamson and the speaker panel included Maryland Secretary of the Environment Ben Grumbles, State Delegate Carl Anderton, and Pat Schrawder from Senator Carozza’s office. It also included members of the county council including Council President Larry Dodd, as well as Council Members John Cannon, Josh Hastings, and Bill McCain and Salisbury City Council President Jack Heath and acting Mayor Julia Glanz. The panel answered a variety of questions around county-wide septic issues and long-term sewer and wastewater plans. The Coastal Association of REALTORS® looks forward to continuing to host this dialog between the various jurisdictions as well as helping our members communicate the issues they are currently facing when it comes to septic and residential transactions.
